COVID-19: Training at home!

We certainly can't deny we are living in interesting times. What with Brexit for the past what felt like forever and now COVID-19 destroying society as we know it. Now, more than ever now it is important that we stay healthy to be able to fight what ever illnesses we may contract including the coronavirus. Being in lockdown should be the standard whatever your age and health status. This doesn't mean you get to skip out on exercising! In times like this it requires us to get a bit more creative with our training and make use of the space and equipment we have in the safety of our own home. As a trainer we have been hit hard by the shutdown of society and we need to keep our small health and fitness communities moving and working together to make the best of a bad situation.
So this morning I had my first training session with a client using the the Zoom video conferencing platform. What a success! My client seemed to be able to workout just as hard as we would in the gym despite being in his wife's dressing room! It is great to know that we can still keep clients working one to one, give them a great session without having to be in the same room as one and other. Here is a screen shot of our session in action! Not the best shot but hopefully you get the idea.
I have cleared my small bedroom to have as a studio, so I can show my clients what to do as I would in the gym, and then also so I can record some videos for clients who feel they want to train alone.
Please everyone keep moving! Stay indoors! Give the NHS a chance to deal with this and save lives. I will continue to help my clients with programming, nutrition advice and where possible one to one through zoom. Lets all do our bit to solve this crisis.
